I am using this Sharp Aquos LC46D85U for about five days intensely connected to a SONY PS3 via HDMI and I am completely in love with her! I compare this against Samsung and Sony Bravia for a long time and concluded that this is equal or superior in image quality.
Pro:
- The picture is incredible!
- 1080p + 120 Hz for a great price!
- Many of the inputs (5x + other HDMI (component A / V, S-VHS))
- The remote with some back-lit buttons(channel, volume, menu, input select, etc.) and control devices of other brands (very common these days).
- Some observations of others have complained about the speakers are rather snobbish when it comes to watching movies, and as for the Bose up LOUD, but I saw X-Men III, LOTR RoTK and cars with no additional speakers connected and I never felt like I was losing. It has no significantly low bass. The voices and music are very crisp and clear, and the “surround” works well enough to expand the sound field and fill a small room. It is high enough that my daughter has asked me to turn down, but it was not break-up or cracked at all.
Cons:
- It seems to have sometime to change channels. This may be the nature of these TVs,.
- No Picture-In-Picture on this model. I like the time in a game without losing sight of a show at the corner of my screen, so I knew when I came back to watch.
All-in-all, this is more considered as a “set of values” (by industry standards).
